Building Community

A Community Is More Than a Place We Live

Hi Callie.png

Meet Callie Nelson

c65fe7e9-5382-4100-89fb-8f7b8dbaf243.jpg

I am putting my name forward for Deputy Mayor because I believe in the future of Cramahe and would be honoured to serve the community that has given so much to me and my family. With a decade of experience as an Operations Director, I bring strong leadership, financial management, organizational, and people-management skills. I have successfully managed teams of  75-100 employees across multiple departments and supported operations while hiring, building and maintaining a team of over 200 on a larger production scale. I simultaneously rebuilt and managed two multimillion dollar companies in Toronto following the pandemic.

My experience developing policies, improving efficiency, managing budgets, and building strong relationships with employees, vendors, and partners has prepared me to contribute thoughtfully and effectively to our community. I look forward to bringing this experience, dedication, and collaborative approach to serving the residents of Cramahe.

A Strong Future for Cramahe

Honouring Our Roots.

Supporting Our People.

Building What's Next.

Our People

Cramahe is home to people at every stage of life. I believe in supporting our children and youth, creating opportunities for families, and ensuring that our mature population continues to feel valued, included, and connected.

A strong community makes room for everyone.

Our Heritage & Identity

Our rich agricultural history is at the heart of Cramahe. The generations of farmers and families who have built and sustained this community deserve our respect and appreciation.

I also believe in supporting the arts, our local traditions, and the unique character of our villages and rural communities.

As we grow, we must continue to protect and celebrate what makes Cramahe special.

Our Future & Local Prosperity

A strong future means supporting agriculture, local businesses, tourism, community initiatives, responsible growth and opportunities that help our residents and our local economy thrive.

Through my work with the Apple Blossom Tyme Planning Committee and the Economic Development Advisory Committee, I have contributed to initiatives for our community.

I believe we can grow while still protecting the character, history, and sense of community that make Cramahe a special place to call home.

Together, we can honour where we have come from, support the people who are here today, and build a strong future for the generations to come.

People's Voices

What members of the Cramahe's community are saying about Callie's dedication and passion

Carrie-Lynn Zegers

Mom of Three, ENSS School Council Chair & Apple Blossom Tyme Committee Vice-Chair

"I have gotten to know Callie over the last year, working together on the Apple Blossom committee. She is dedicated to anything she gets involved in. She is so organized and always up for a challenge. She has a clear understanding of how to get a job done in a professional manner and learning the proper process and how it should be accomplished. She has a positive outlook and it’s infectious to those around her, creating a wonderful atmosphere."

Zoey Williams

Cramahe Fire Fighter, Northumberland County Paramedic & Alchimista Employee

"I knew Callie before I had the opportunity to work alongside her, but working with her deepened my respect and admiration for the person she is.

She approaches every situation with a level head, an open mind, and a genuine willingness to listen. She is thoughtful, fair, and always open to meaningful conversation, even when perspectives differ. She has also created an incredible team environment. One where people feel supported, valued, and comfortable being themselves. It is a reflection of the kind of leader she is. Someone you can trust, lean on, and genuinely enjoy working alongside. Her integrity, compassion, and ability to bring people together are qualities that are deeply admirable."

Diane Clarey

Lifelong Cramahe Resident & Owner of Cold Creek Coffee Roasters

"My name is Diane, small business owner in Cramahe township and lifelong resident of the township. I am sole proprietor of Cold Creek Coffee Roasters, and from the moment I met Callie, I had a notion that this strong and independent woman was going to make her vision of opening and running a cafe in downtown Colborne a destination.

Callie has accomplished this in her first year.

I've seen her success as a business owner develop and shift where decisions were necessary for growth.

Callie is Alchimista Coffee Bar, and when you encounter her space, she calls you by name and quickly serves up your favourite cuppa, it feels like home. Callie deeply cares about the community she has become part of and I can attest to her drive and passion to make things better for her family and further to her community.

Callie has an extensive education behind her experiences. Her work ethic and determination alone, make her a suitable candidate in the running of Deputy Mayor in the township of Cramahe. Consider this young, energetic and motivated person to lead us through the many facets of helping our community succeed!
